Brynn Gillen- DennisOnondaga Co. Dairy Princess
POMPEY RESIDENT WINS STATE DAIRY PRINCESS POSITION
The current Onondaga Co Dairy Princess, Brynn Gillen-Dennis, was chosen for the county position in May 2006. She then competed at the NYS Pageant on February 20, 2007. Brynn competed against 27 other county Princesses from across the state. She was among the top three winners for her Adult Speech, and was in the top three for the Written Communications test, as well. Brynn was also voted Miss Congeniality by her peers at the two day event. During the State Pageant, emcee'd by Onondaga County Legislature Chair Dale Sweetland, Brynn was crowned 1st Alternate NY State Princess, joining NYS Princess Hannah McDermott of Washington Co, and 2nd Alternate NYS Princess Julia Huydincia of Montgomery Co. The three Princesses will spend the next year promoting dairy throughout New York State. They will host a training seminar to educate the new 2007 county Princesses, attend farm meetings statewide, and attend Dairy Day at the NYS Fair.
Brynn is the daughter of Pompey Tax Collector Karen Dennis and her husband Craig. She is the grandaughter of former Coucilor Carl Dennis. The Dennis Family Farm was established in 1944 by Brynn's great-grandfather Clifford Dennis. She is a 2004 graduate of Cazenovia High School, and currently a junior at SUNY Oswego studying Adolescence Education/English.
