Local Elections Information?

We have recently moved into the area, and I cannot find any information on the local Pompey elections that are coming up (Nov '09).  It seems like this discussion board may not be in current use, but if anyone is reading, do you know of any sources of information on these elections, other than contacting the individual candidates directly?  I can find nothing on the web on these elections, including Smartvoter, the Onon. Co. Bd. Elections, and LWV.

Many thanks, Grant Reeher

Re: Local Elections Information?

I will reply to my own post with what I've been able to find, in case anyone else is interested.  According to a local elected official in a neighboring town, it's still a bit early for information on races this local.  The LWV does not provide information on these levels of races--at least in the suburbs--according to one of its members.  The newspaper may supply some information in the future, but it's not there yet.  Ditto for a website run by the Newhouse School at SU, with articles written by students, called "Democracywise."  So it's up to the local parties to provide information on the candidates, along with the candidates themselves, and I'll follow up with them in the coming weeks.  Aside from that, the lawn signs are growing along the side of the road, but those are just names and pictures.

Re: Local Elections Information?

Grant Reeher,

Thanks for the information.  I've been trying to find out about the candidates too.

Best Regards,
